Tattoo + You, Rachel As part of the ongoing photo project, Tattoo Plus You, A Photo Story of Body Ink, Rachel came into the studio for a photo shoot. These days I’m reaching into the archives in the oh-so-many-yet-to-be-seen-images-category as some of my work is about to be featured in Inkspired Magazine. Vancouver Island Music Fest 2014 I shot the Vancouver Island Music Fest, 2014 again this year and as usual, the weekend was amazing. It was hot, really hot and the bands were amazing. My personal faves were Angélique Kidjo, The Mavericks, Lowrider Band, Blind Boys of Alabama, Mokoomba…but there were so many. I just had to pick a few. Music photography at a big event is kind of like fast-action sports photography mixed with portraiture…it’s a fun blend with your subject […]

You can check out the various North Coast Trail itineraries here. There’s also some good stuff here. And if you want a really cool virtual tour of the North Coast Trail and the Cape Scott […]

I love winter sports photography because it gets me outside, I get awesome exercise as I race around to get the shots and I get to spend time with people who are deeply passionate about their sport. There’s nothing like being around people who are at the height of […]

As a sports photographer you get to go to the happening locations, oftentimes with special access to the sites or venues, and you often have to get very close, sometimes uncomfortably so, as a past concussion from a hit from a snowboarder amply demonstrated to me. There’s a fine line between close and too close. Three months is a long time […]
