I love to witness people’s lives, to see people fully expressed and to find new ways of seeing things.
I have photographed athletes, dancers, yogis, adventurers, musicians, warriors, artists, families and workers as they go about their lives. Even the seemingly mundane can be so full of details and surprises. I strive to catch those ephemeral truths that we express daily as we go about our lives.
My approach in photography is to create a space where people feel free, safe and secure. Then I encourage them to pull the curtains back and to let me peek in for a moment or two. I set out with intention in my photography, but I do not get overly attached to an outcome. Ultimately the outcome will be as unique as the events that lead up to each recorded moment. My goal is to capture some of the essence of an individual and to witness their lives with a magnetic photograph that captures peoples’ attention.
I love to explore the paradox that we are all different and the same with each and every breath we take. Whether it is a portrait from the Sahara or an urban portrait in Buenos Aires, there is a human look that is distinctly similar and familiar to all of us. And through this, I explore and express the human condition in all its beauty and pathos. And then I get to share my vision which is the best part of all.
